Art Talk: The Art of Photography
September 27 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Since its birth almost 200 years ago, photography has undergone countless innovations, evolving from black & white daguerreotype, to rolls of color film, to the digital smartphone images all over Instagram. One of the most iconic photographs ever taken is Steve McCurry’s “Afghan Girl,” a National Geographic cover image which not only became a symbol of turmoil in Afghanistan, but of women refugees throughout the Middle East. We will be looking at photographs of important events and people, expressions of beauty in nature, images that have gone viral on social media, and others, seeking to understand this art form that has become so influential in our everyday lives. If you’d like to join us, there are four ways to register: call 732-463-1633, text 732-474-8864, email email@example.com, or stop by the Kennedy Information Desk in person.
